Jades S.A. is doing its part to sustain the recently renewed Sister City relationship with Coral Gables, Fla., near Miami. Sales Manager Veronica Ortiz traveled to Coral Gables last September with a contingent of Antigua business and civic leaders.
She presented to Coral Gables Mayor Don Slesnick a handsome Jade carving depicting the seal of the city of Coral Gables. Mayor Slesnick had led a delegation of 20 Coral Gables community leaders to Antigua last July, to renew Sister Cities that had laid dormant for nearly 10 years. Earlier this year, Jades S.A. founder Jay Ridinger also visited Coral Gables, meeting with Mayor Slesnick and members of the Coral Gables International Affairs Coordinating Council.
Congratulations are in order for Mayor Slesnick, who was elected to a second term, without opposition, as were two of his City Commission colleagues- no greater an affirmation of a job well done in the first term than to draw no opposition for a second term.
